A new survey has found the support for same-sex marriage has risen dramatically across the country in the past decade.
The Ipsos poll found the Australian public’s support for gay marriage has increased by 40 per cent over the past four years, while opposition to it has dropped by 23 per cent.
“This trend has been quite consistent, and has been a consistent result across the spectrum of people and issues that have been asked,” Ipsos Australia chief executive Matthew O’Connor said.
“I would say this is a trend that is quite unique to Australia and has had a clear impact on attitudes and behaviour.”AAP/ABC NewsTopics:government-and-politics,marriage,australia
