‘Marrying Jesus’ pastor charged with child sex trafficking

A St. Louis pastor has been charged with trafficking children and faces a prison term of up to 10 years in federal prison, authorities said Tuesday.

The charge comes just weeks after a man was arrested on child sex abuse charges.

St. Clair County Prosecuting Attorney Robert King said in a news release that Kevin Scott Lewis Jr. has been indicted by a grand jury for allegedly trafficking at least one child between March 2015 and February 2019.

King said that Lewis has been living in the St. Charles area for more than a decade, and he is accused of exploiting at least five children.

He is accused with abusing at least four of the children, King said.

The charges stem from a December 2015 arrest at Lewis’ home in St. Joseph, according to the news release.

The charges allege Lewis sexually abused three children between the ages of 4 and 11.

According to the indictment, Lewis is the pastor of St. Augustine’s Grace Lutheran Church, which is located at the intersection of Stony Creek Drive and Hwy.
