NEW DELHI: The Government on Monday approved a package of measures to ensure families get a boost in their monthly bills, while boosting incentives for businesses and startups to attract more business.
The package, which comes as India continues to struggle with an economy that is slowing, includes new incentives for large corporations to boost their turnover, and a proposal to allow Indian startups to set up in US cities, as well as making the Government’s national standards on setting up a new business a matter of convenience for startups.
The government also aims to incentivise small businesses to grow by allowing them to get an equal number of employees, which could help them attract more employees, said a senior official.
The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and the Finance Ministry will soon announce how much subsidies and rebates the government will offer companies to attract the needed number of staff, the official said, adding that the Prime Minister had already made the decision to boost incentives for companies and startups.
